I love my quad . . . but I've always hated how the cooler rack would flop up & down, no matter how tight I tightened the bolts. The problem seemed to be that the bolts held the dual exhaust, the fender supports, and the cooler rack. Plus, the bolts went into these little flimsy recessed nuts that were free-floating inside the frame. Weird.
Not anymore.
I drilled out the floating nuts, and the exhaust supports, and the fender mounts to the size of an M10 bolt. I now have 8.8 grade M10 bolts that go through everything. I put wave lock washers on the bolt-side, split lock washers on the nut-side, and red locktite on the threads . . . then I torqued the @#(*$)@ out of them.
I don't want to try, but I'm pretty sure I could stand on the cooler rack, and not have it sag.
Overengineering: the solution to annoying little problems.
